Three reasons you should come to Fritz Porter and view Zoe Designs stunning, museum quality giclée, wallpaper mural.
1: Monet was the muse… (& so was this bathroom!)
The original mural was painted in an amazing bathroom design by Wilson Kelsey (shown here.) The design mirrors Monet’s Nymphéas which are displayed at the Musée de l’Orangerie in Paris.
Wilson Kelsey Design wanted to celebrate Monet and his Lily Pad series by highlighting the architecture of the period while adding today's modern sensibility and technology in their fixtures, lighting, and materials.
2. The original mural was created from black & white photos…
Working from black and white photos taken on a trip in 1985 of Monet’s gardens at Giverny, Brooke and Lena Shledon, created a hand-painted tribute to Monet by making the mural’s composition feel familiar and akin to Monet’s, but with a diverging color palette.
Then, the husband and wife team Doug Garrabrants & Lena Fransioli, (aka Zoë Design) turned the mural into a large format, museum quality, giclée wallpaper.
Like all great exhibits, this one is only with us for a limited time…
